Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know to play, compete, and win.
Getting Started
How do I start a trivia game?

Type /trivia in any channel. A menu will appear letting you choose a mode, number of questions, and category. Hit start and the game begins immediately.

If your server admin has set a dedicated trivia channel, you may need to run the command there.

How do I answer questions?

Just type your answer in the chat. You don't need a command — TriviaSphere watches for the first correct answer in the channel. Answers are case-insensitive and tolerate minor typos.

What are the different game modes?
ModeDescription
ClassicStandard trivia. Answer questions, earn Orbs, climb the board.
BlitzShorter time limits. First correct answer wins each question.
FrenzyRapid-fire chaos — questions fly fast.
EndlessKeeps going until someone runs /stop.
Multi-ScoreAnswer window stays open — everyone who answers correctly scores, and speed decides how many points.
Can I play solo?

Yes. Start a game in any channel — there's no minimum player count. Solo play is a good way to grind Orbs or practice before competing with your server.

Community & Content
Can I submit my own trivia question?

Yes! Run /submit in the TriviaSphere server to fill out a question form right in Discord, or submit one from the website.

Either way you'll need to log in with Discord and be a member of the TriviaSphere server — this keeps submissions accountable and prevents spam. Every submission is reviewed by a moderator before it's added to the question bank, so nothing goes live automatically.

Orbs & Economy
What are Orbs?

🔮 Orbs are TriviaSphere's in-bot currency. You earn them by answering questions correctly. They're spent in the shop on powerups that give you an edge mid-game.

Orb balances are per-server — your Orbs in one server don't carry over to another.

How do I earn Orbs?

Orbs drop automatically for every correct answer during any game mode. You can also earn bonus Orbs by voting for TriviaSphere on top.gg — /vote to get the link.

What can I buy in the shop?
ItemCostEffect
Hint10 🔮Reveal the first letter of every word in the answer.
Skip25 🔮Skip the current question. No penalty for anyone.
Orb Boost50 🔮2× Orb earnings on your next 10 correct answers.

Use /shop list to see your balance, and /shop buy to purchase an item.

How do I use a Skip or Hint during a game?

After buying a Skip, run /shop skip while a game is active. The current question ends immediately with no penalty.

For a Hint, run /hint during a game. The first letter of every word in the answer will be revealed. You need a Hint token in your inventory first.

How does voting give me Orbs?

Run /vote to get the top.gg voting link. After you vote, TriviaSphere automatically drops 50 🔮 into your wallet in every server you share with the bot. On weekends, that doubles to 100 🔮.

You can vote once every 12 hours.

Leaderboards & Competition
How do leaderboards work?

Each server has its own leaderboard based on total correct answers and Orbs earned. Use /leaderboard to see standings — by default it shows your server's all-time board. Add scope:Today for a daily leaderboard that resets every day, or scope:Global for a year-long board across every server running TriviaSphere.

How does team mode work?

Teams are persistent, not per-game — create one with /team create and join with /team join. Every point you earn in any game also adds to your team's running total, viewable anytime with /team leaderboard.

What's the Daily Champion role?

Set a role with /settings dailyrole and TriviaSphere automatically hands it to whoever tops that day's leaderboard. It's reassigned every day — only the current day's leader holds it. Free for all servers.

What are score milestone roles?

Use /settings reward add to grant a role permanently the first time a player's cumulative server score crosses a threshold you set. These stack — a player can hold multiple milestone roles at once, and they're never taken away. Free for all servers.

Server Setup
How do I configure TriviaSphere for my server?

Admins can use /settings to configure a dedicated trivia channel, enable or disable question categories, set mod roles, and configure role rewards. No configuration is required to get started — defaults work out of the box.

Can I restrict trivia to a specific channel?

Yes. Run /settings channel and select the channel you want. Once set, /trivia will only work in that channel.

How do I stop an active game?

Run /stop in the channel where the game is running.

Custom questions

Endless has no fixed question cap — it just keeps going.

How do I subscribe to Premium?

Premium is purchased through Discord. Click on TriviaSphere's profile in your server and look for the subscription option, or visit the bot's App Page on Discord. One server subscription unlocks Premium for every member in that server.

How do I set up scheduled games (Premium)?

Use /settings schedule add and choose a channel, mode, question count, and interval (minimum 30 minutes). TriviaSphere will auto-start games on that schedule without anyone needing to run a command.

View your schedules with /settings schedule list and remove one with /settings schedule remove.

Can I get a refund?

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Discord. Refunds are subject to Discord's refund policy. We do not issue refunds directly for partially used billing periods.

Email us at [email protected] and we'll get back to you.
